When in the Philippines one restaurant that is not to be missed is Gerry’s Grill, in my opinion anyway. They have branches throughout the Philippines as well as several worldwide, Singapore, the UAE, Qatar, as well as Texas and a few locations in California.
Gerry’s menu is Filipino fare, dishes like Kare Kare, Kaldereta, & Sisig. They also have bbq dishes that are amazing. One of my favorites is a dish called kinilaw, it is a raw seafood dish, made usually of a seafood, vinegar, calamansi, ginger, onions, & chili peppers; though depending on the region it can be made with other ingredients, i.e. substituting coconut milk for the vinegar, etc.
Tokwa’t lechon kawali, garlic rice, pinakbet, & lechon kawali, that was my meal for a visit one day last Spring.
Check them out when you get the chance if you’re in the Philippines or if in any of their locations, you won’t be disappointed.
